How to Play
Let It Ride Poker
This is a variation of
five-card stud poker in which the player try to get a
good hand by combining three cards dealt to him or her
with the dealer's two "hole" cards. To reduce
the risk when chances for a winning hand seem bleak, the
player can remove up to two-thirds of his or her original
bet during play.
Bets: To place your bets you should
first select the value of the chips you will use, by
clicking once the left button of your mouse on the
selected chip in the lower part of the screen. A red
underbar indicates which chip value is active ant any
time. Then click on any of the three betting circles in
the middle of the screen or double click on the selected
chip. Each click adds one chip to the three simultaneous
bets and their value is automatically deducted from your
balance. If you change your mind and want to withdraw
some or all the chips from the bets, you can do so by
clicking the right button of your mouse on any of the
betting circles. The program always maintains the three
bets equal. You can mix chips of different value, but
cannot exceed the maximum allowed for the table.
How to Play: First place your three equal bets as
explained above, then click on the "DEAL"
button. You will be dealt three cards and the dealer
receives two cards face down. Now you can remove one of
your bets or "let it ride". If you do not like
your cards and want to minimize possible loses, then
click on the "WITHDRAW" button and one of the
bets is returned to you and your balance is increased
accordingly. If you think you may have a winning hand,
then click on the "LET IT RIDE" button to
continue play maintaining your three bets. In any case
the dealer then turns over one of her cards, which is
counted as your fourth card. Now you must decide again
whether to withdraw your second bet or "let it
ride", and do so by clicking the appropriate button
as before. In either case, the dealer then turns over her
second card and your hand is determined by combining your
three and the dealer's two cards. The minimum winning
hand is a pair of Tens or better, which pays even money.
Winning hands and their odds and payoffs are shown below.
When a hand is over, you can start the next by placing
your bets as before, when the red arrow points to the
betting circles.
Sound: The game is loaded in silent
mode. To activate sound, click and depress the small
button with a musical note located at the lower left of
the screen. A second mouse click will release this button
and return to silent mode.
