Rules for
Let It Ride Poker
This is a variation of
five-card stud poker in which the player tries to get a
good hand by combining three cards dealt to him or her
with the dealer's two "hole" cards. To reduce
the risk when chances for a winning hand seem bleak, the
player can remove up to two-thirds of his or her original
bet during play. The object of the game is to obtain the highest
possible poker hand. The winning Let It Ride hands and their payoffs
are shown below and are the same of poker. The player simply
tries to get a winning hand and doesn't compete against other players
or the dealer. The game is played with one standard poker cards
deck, reshuffled before each hand.
Bets: There are three simultaneous bets of exactly the same
amount, chosen by the player between the minimum and the maximum
allowed in the table. The game begins by placing the three bets in the
three betting circles named 1, 2 and $. To do this in the 4
Jacks Casino, click on the chip of the chosen value and three of these
chips are automatically placed. Additional clicks add more chips to
the bets. You can mix chips of different value, but
cannot exceed the maximum allowed for the table. The limits refer to the
individual value of each bet, not the addition of the three.
The Game: The player is dealt three face-up cards and another
three go face down to the dealer. The hand is formed by the three
player's cards plus two "hole" cards of the dealer. The
player looks at his or her three cards and decides if there is a good
chance of forming a winning hand or not. If the chances are bleak, the
player can withdraw one of the bets in order to minimize possible
loses, or can let stay or "let it ride" all three bets to
maximize winnings. After the first decision, the dealer discards one
of her three face-down cards and turn face up one of the other two,
which is the fourth card for the player. The player again decides if
to withdraw a second bet or let them ride as before. After this second
decision, the dealer turns face up the last card, the hand is
evaluated and prizes are paid according to the payoff table
below.
